#FreeAnons, a group organized to support arrested and imprisoned revolutionary hackers, reports that Barrett Brown was recently arrested in Dallas, Texas.

Barrett Brown appears to have been arrested on 9/12/12. Our thoughts go out to him and his family. Barrett was video conferencing on tinychat, as he often does, at the time of the raid and a recording of his arrest has been circulating the Internet. The Prison Reform Movement, a solidarity network, claimed on their Twitter this morning to have contacted the Dallas County Jail and were informed that Barrett had been released to another agency. George Flynn, who reportedly directed PFC Bradley Manning’s illegal pretrial confinement conditions.Every time I attend a Bradley Manning hearing the prosecutors show their outrageous disrespect for the law, demonstrate they cannot be trusted and that this prosecution should not proceed.

Beginning on November 27, the defense will argue a long-delayed motion to dismiss for unlawful pretrial punishment.  In a moment of high drama, Bradley is likely to testify about his nine months in solitary confinement during the argument of this motion.

Prosecutors Are Caught Hiding More than One Thousand Emails about Manning’s Confinement

The most recent reason for the delay in the hearing was the government was caught hiding 1,374 emails relevant to the confinement of Bradley Manning. (more…)

‘Anonymous’ Hackers Target Private Prison Contractor

Hacker group Anonymous on Friday vandalized the website of a major US prison contractor in the latest salvo in an anti-police campaign.

Anonymous subgroup “Antisec” took credit for replacing The Geo Group website home page with a rap song dedicated in part to Mumia Abu-Jamal and a message condemning prisons and policing in the United States.

Mumia Abu-Jamal, whose birth name is Wesley Cook, is a former Black Panther and radio journalist serving a life sentence for the 1981 shooting death of a police officer in Philadelphia. (more…)
